At Ghent University

Annelies declercq ughent

Annelies Declercq is the Director of the Laboratory of Aquaculture & Artemia Reference Centre at UGent since 2024. She is specialised in veterinary medicine, fish diseases and aquaculture. Her expertise covers:

  • Bacterial fish disease management
  • Aquatic animal welfare
  • Host-microbial interactions
 

She plays an active role in several global aquaculture research and education programmes.

Jean dhont ughent

Jean Dhont is the overall programme manager. He oversees the smooth operation of the programme and the coordination among the AquaH partners. Jean Dhont has years of experience in managing aquaculture research and education projects.

At NTNU

Bengt finstad ntnu

Bengt Finstad is professor in aquaculture biology with specialisation in ecophysiology. He is the head of NTNU Department of Biology’s Marine Section.

Anna Solvang Batnes is professor in Aquaculture Health Management, with specialisation in parasitology and plankton ecology.

Kjell inge reitan at ntnu

Prof. in Aquaculture, specialised in aquaculture ecology and marine aquaculture. He is Program coordinator of the local MSOCEAN programme at NTNU.

Silje Strand Lundgren is student advisor and responsible for admission, education plans, study environment and other related inquiries.

Geert Wiegertjes is professor in Aquaculture, specialised in fish health and immunology. Organiser of the annual series Fish Immunology & Vaccination Workshops.

Required basic statistics qualifications involves knowledge of:

(1) Introductory concepts: descriptive statistics, random variables and their distribution, properties of lineair combinations of random variables.

(2) Inference from normally distributed data: t-tests, F-test to compare variances, P-values, type I and type II errors.

(3) The general linear model: t-test on a regression coefficient, analysis of variance, extra sum of squares, (adjusted) R-squared and model selection, quantitative and qualitative explanatory variables, interactions, post-hoc analysis, geometric interpretation of regression, hat-matrix.

(4) Non-parametric statistics.
